When the seasons change, we have to make sure our skin can handle the weather. Aside from our normal skin care regime of cleansing and moisturizing twice a day, there are extra steps we should take to ensure our skin remains healthy. Here are some easy, natural Skin Care Tips for Spring …
Have you ever noticed that your skin starts to peel after the winter? That’s your body trying to get rid of all the dead skin! If you don’t exfoliate, your skin will do it for you. During the cold months our skin becomes dry and may even begin to crack. Once that happens and your it begins to form new layer of skin, you NEED to get rid of all the excess layers of dead skin cells. Exfoliating helps to speed up this process. No need to splurge on expensive products. Use can purchase an inexpensive body and/or facial scrub or you can create your own. Don’t forget to exfoliate the lips! 👄
How often should I exfoliate?
Frequency: Once or twice a week
One of the most uncomfortable feelings, for me at least, is having dry, tight “alligator feeling” skin. So I boost up the moisture! Even if you have normal or oily skin, you STILL NEED to moisturize! Let’s think about it. 🤔 If your body needs water to survive and your skin is the largest organ of the body, then water MUST be essential for the skin. If your body needs water, your skin does too! If you want to protect your skin from sun damage, wear sunscreen! Why? Well, there’s this little thing called global warming that effecting our environment and killing half a million birds each year! If it’s killing birds, then think of the harm its causes our skin! I know there’s this misconception that darker-skinned individuals don’t need sunscreen, but we ALL do! Especially after exfoliating! We have to protect the newly revealed skin from any sunrays or environmental damage. Here’s a list of approved sunscreens by the Environmental Working Group.

These spring time skin care tips are just some of the ways you can ensure healthy skin during climate changes. I encourage you to add it to your weekly skin care regimen, if you haven’t yet.
